An image from a Kiosk in ‘La Rambla’ of Barcelona. We took this image in 2003 the morning after the Irak War started. Catalan politicians choose this emblematic location to state their positions towards the starting conflict. The actual action is taking place out of the frame.
In this room of ‘Guia Secreta de la Rambla’ exhibition, the wallpaper image of the kiosk was placed next to many different representations of kiosks, press, magazines and other materials, all taking place or being distributed in ‘La Rambla’ of Barcelona.
The multiplicity of image typologies present in the installation make appear the kiosk as the most popular device in the city representing our mediated relation with actuality.
